QMP Traditional Cycle Shelters

Traditional Cycle Shelters from QMP provide covered and secure parking for bikes. The name Traditional derives from the use of galvanised corrugated steel to form the back and side panels of the shelter. These panels permit the screening of the contents of the shelter from certain viewpoints. As an alternative, perforated flat powder coated steel panels can be specified instead.

The shelter is constructed from tubular steel sections supporting a corrugated sheet steel roof. The roof overhangs the shelter walls at the front so as to provide protection for bike saddles from all but driving rain. For units mounted close to a wall, the back can be specified as open. The side coverings for these units are either in corrugated galvanised sheets or in perforated flat powder coated panels.

Traditional Cycle Shelters come in a choice of two widths and two depths. The 1900mm depth is suitable for most bikes, whilst the 2500mm depth is recommended if motor cycles or motor scooters are to be stored. For width, there is a choice of 2450mm and 3060mm. Long runs of cycle parking shelters can be created from initial and extension units.

Selected models of the Traditional Cycle Shelter have been designed to accommodate the Traditional Cycle Rack, a twin-level, space efficient rack to which a wheel of each bike can be chained securely. These racks are large enough to take the wheel of most bikes including mountain bikes.

The QMP Traditional Cycle Shelter must be installed by bolting the feet to 250mm thick concrete pads, or by embedding the legs in concrete below ground level. Installing directly into block paving or tarmac is not recommended.

A choice of frame colours is available as standard with optional special colours available for a modest extra cost.

All Shelter are 2100mm high.  See Traditional Cycle Racks for racks
